Cutout cookies require safety goggles...

Yes, you read that right... apparently making cutout cookies at our house requires safety goggles... not sure why, I thought the only safety device we needed was a pot holder so I don't burn my hand when taking the pans out of the oven... however, I was wrong... and if you look closely, not only do we need safety goggles to make cutouts at our house, we also need hocky pucs.. just sayin'.

Wow!

It's hard to believe, but today is the kids last day of school for this school year... Wow!  Where does the time go?  I mean, really... Auri is done with kindergarten and Jackson is done with 3rd grade.... At the end of school today, they are a 1st grader and a 4th grader...  Seriously? Jackson will go to a different school building, and although I get my lunch breaks back and will no longer have to leave to get Auri from school and take her to the sitter, I still can't believe that a whole 9 months of school is done already.  The following pictures are from their first day of school for Kindergarten and 3rd grade....

Auri loved kindergarten.  She learned a lot, and although still reads like she is 6, at least she can read.  It is pretty cool... She loves the learning and making her brain remember new things... It's been a big year of growth for her, not just in school, but her personality has changed a great deal, she is not nearly as shy now, and she is not nearly as quiet.  She has begun her sassiness that I was hoping would hold off a few years, but at least she is still adorable when she is sassy and not obnoxious.  She is amazing!

Jackson's 3rd grade teacher was the best thing that could have happened to him this year... she is able to handle a bunch of kids all at once, and lots of noice and what to me felt like chaos sometimes, she always knew what her students were up to, and was always in control of her classroom... She was so awesome, I know that she was the exact teacher that Jackson needed to have.
Jackson excelled in Tech club, and in Chess Club this year.  He loved both and seemed to be loved by the teachers in both.  He is really good at reading and math, but what is most amazing, is that he is actually quite good at every subject.  His mind is developing and growing and he is one of the smartest people I know.  I can't wait to see how God uses him in the future.
We met Jackson's teachers for 4th grade... His day will start with a nice lady named Mrs Zimmerman, she will be teaching Math and Science and then in the afternoon he will go to Mrs Hoepf's room for Social Studies and Literacy (reading and writing).  The cool thing about this 2nd teacher is that she and Jackson are already working together this year in Tech Club.  She is Auri's current kindergarten teacher and is moving up to the middle school for next school year.  We are very excited about this, because she is already really good with Jackson, and he already knows he can't push her buttons.  I'm not sure the names of his gym, music and art teachers, but we'll get there.  I'm just glad he made it through another school year. :)

Well my friends, until next time, the adventures of the Deubner children must go on. They are going to have a busy and fun and educational summer.  They get to spend ever morning with Uncle Tim, every Monday afternoon with mommy, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons with Mimi and Thursday & Friday afternoons with Uncle Tim and Kiki... They will be doing some really cool stuff, and will be learning lots.  I am excited to see what is in store for them along with their cousins.

Stay tuned!

God Bless!!!

Soccer...

It is that time of year again... Jackson is in the 2nd season of his 3rd year of soccer, and he loves it... he tries so hard to get goals... none yet this year, but he had a great attempt this past week and a fantastic assist...

(PS... He had to borrow a t-shirt for this game because we didn't have the regular shirt available at the time.)

This is Auri's first time Ever playing soccer... and she L...O...V...E...S... it!  She gets very excited about soccer day, I think she very well may look forward to it every week.  And she plays like a natural...  She makes us very proud!!

I hope you have a blessed day... and I pray you enjoy your kids as much as I enjoy mine, and if you don't have any, enjoy spending time and encouraging those of family and friends!!

God Bless!
