Cookies Lessons with Papa

Well, when we were growing up, one of my favorite (of the many) Christmas traditions that we had at our house was making cut-out cookies with Dad, so I asked him if he would be willing to start doing that with Jackson every year. So he said yes and we asked mom to make us some dough for Love Cookies. She said yes and we made the plans. So in this picture dad is showing Jackson how to pat the dough and get ready to roll it (which was always dad's job during this process). The second picture is what Jackson looked like after dad got him with some flour. How cute!! This is poor Aurora waiting patiently to have her turn in the cookie dough and flour mixture. Later in this blog you will see her actually getting her turn. Next is Dad showing Jackson how to put the flour on the rolling pin so that the dough won't stick to it. And then you can see him intently studying dad's work as he rolls out the dough on the table. You can actually see his brain working if you look close enough at he eyes. Next dad explains how the process of the cookies cutters works and after that he lets Jackson have a try. Then you can see them filling the rolled dough with cookie cutters and dad gave Jackson the job of pushing the cutters down into the dough so that they will make the shapes. Okay, next came Aurora's turn to have some fun with Papa. She thought it would be a great deal of fun to eat the flour mixture, I think she will eat anything that is put in front of her. She even ate spinach last week. Yuck!! Okay this last picture is the train cookie that I decorated especially for Jackson, while he was taking his nap. I figured that he did such a good job making cookies with Papa that he deserved to have one just for himself. I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!
