Isaac's Birthday!

Thursday May 15th was Isaac's 8th birthday. We all met at mom and dad's house after the boys finished their soccer games (around 8ish).

I had worked about 10 and a half hours over the course of a number of days, on painting this truck for Isaac. He and Papa built it a few months ago and he asked me to paint it for him. So I turned it into a birthday present. I am pretty proud of how it turned out, and I think that he really likes it!!!

Kristin---that truck looks amazing! I am sure Isaac will treasure that truck for a long time as it is such a labor of love from you!

Hey Kristen. What a talent! I remember my mum making me a sailor's uniform for my Action Man (tm) when I was a kid and thinking it was amazing. These have got to be precious times, before the kids want the latest hi-tech thing they've seen on the TV and won't settle for anything less. I hope you can keep your family happy with great stuff like the truck for a long time yet!

Actually, an aunt can probably get away with it. I'd be playing the eccentric, creative, funny aunt for as long as possible and weirding them out with all sorts of home-spun presents. We seem to have lost the gift for that sort of "made with love" stuff these days.

BTW - You are so kind with your comments. It's easy to forget how lucky I am sometimes and your comments sometimes bring it home.

All the best to you and your folks.
